What is Sanity?
Sanity is a headless CMS in which content is stored as structured data rather than finished pages. That is why the same content can be fetched through an API by a website, an app or an online store.
One content base for every channel
Sanity does not store finished pages, only individual pieces of content: an article, a product, a price list, a person. You enter each one once and reference it anywhere.
All of them live in a single database (the Content Lake) with a full change history, so any edit can be rolled back.
The result? You change a price in one place and it updates everywhere. No copying and no mismatches between pages.
A content model shaped around your company
Before any page is built, we design what your content is made of: which fields it has, what is required, what connects to what. That model lives in the project code, alongside the website.
Changing the model is an ordinary code change, and the website knows about the new field right away.
A new section or page type takes hours of work, not weeks of alignment.
Sanity Studio - an editorial panel built for your team
Studio is the editing panel we build around a specific editorial process: a custom layout, hints next to fields, validation, preview, language versions.
Several people can work on the same document at the same time, just like in Google Docs.
Editors see only what they need and publish on their own. Fewer errors, fewer questions for IT.
Text independent of the website design
Formatted text (Portable Text) is stored as data, not as the HTML of a particular template. A heading, a list, a CTA block or an FAQ are separate, named elements.
We render the same article on the website, in the app and in the newsletter, each time in the right design.
A redesign does not require re-editing a single entry.
Content goes wherever you need it
The website, the app or the store fetch content through an API, asking for exactly what they need (the GROQ query language). After every publication the static website rebuilds automatically.
The CMS never sits between the visitor and the website, so it cannot slow it down or take it offline.
One content source, any number of channels, and a website that loads instantly.
Why do companies move their content to Sanity?
They:
-
Faster development, faster changes
A content model kept in code and typed queries mean that a new section, a new page type or a new field takes hours of work, not weeks of back-and-forth between editors, IT and the agency.
Shorter time from idea to publication
Fewer errors between the CMS and the frontend
New page types without rebuilding the CMS
-
Editors independent of IT
A Studio tailored to the editorial process, several people working at once, validation and preview before publishing: the team publishes on its own and never waits for a developer.
More publications with the same team
Fewer fixes after publishing
Language versions without duplicated work
-
One content source, many channels
Content does not depend on the frontend, so the website, the app, landing pages and integrations all read the same source. A redesign does not mean migrating content, and a new channel does not mean a new editorial effort.
Consistent information in every channel
A new look without re-editing content
Scaling to new markets and products
We chose Sanity for our own website as well - and the decision keeps paying off.
We recommend to clients the tools we rely on ourselves. All content on webprofessor.pl, in two language versions, is managed in Sanity. It was a choice made after evaluating the available systems, and everyday work confirms it: the team publishes independently, updates need no developer, and new pages are built on the existing content model. We apply the same standards in every client implementation.

What sets Sanity apart from other CMSs?
Content model
Content built for the business, not for a theme
In WordPress or Webflow the content structure follows the page template. In Sanity the model comes first: product, location, specialist, offer. PUMA has created more than 55,000 pieces of reusable content in Sanity.
Fewer duplicates = fewer errors and cheaper content maintenance.
Performance
A static website, a live editorial team
After publishing, the website rebuilds automatically and lands on servers close to the visitor (CDN). Nobody waits for a database or plugins.
Website speed does not depend on the CMS load.
Teamwork
Shared editing and scheduled publishing
Editors work in the same document at the same time, and every change has a history. A whole campaign can be prepared in advance and published in one action at a chosen time. PUMA has staged more than 100 campaigns in Sanity.
Publishing at the chosen minute, with no risk of overwriting someone's work.
Security
A website cut off from the CMS
Sanity is a managed service: there is no database, installation or plugins of your own to update. The public website is separated from the CMS: static files with no login panel and no database access, so there is nothing to attack.
Breaking into a classic CMS website means access to everything. Here that path does not exist.
Flexibility
Swap the frontend, keep the content
Content knows nothing about its frontend. You start with a website, add an app, and in a few years change the technology without moving a single entry.
Your investment in content outlives every redesign and technology change.
Sanity is built for...
Sanity works best where content is a business asset: there is a lot of it, it changes often, it has structure and it goes to more than one place.
Teams who care about:
- Editorial independence - publishing without tickets to a developer, in several languages too.
- Consistent data - one source of truth for prices, offers, locations or specialists.
- Speed of change - new sections and page types in days, not weeks.
- Website performance - a static website that never waits for the CMS on any visit.
- Security and peace of mind - a website cut off from the CMS, with no plugins or updates to watch over.
Projects like:
- Company websites with a blog and knowledge base
- Multilingual websites with editors in several countries
- Catalogues of products, services or locations with prices and addresses
- Migrations from WordPress, Webflow or Wix to Astro + Sanity
- Content for many channels: website, app, newsletter, AI search
