Project goal and starting point
The Family Psychotherapy center approached us with the need to create a professional website that would effectively present their services and team of specialists, while building trust and the empathetic atmosphere so important in the mental health industry.
The main goal was to create a modern but gentle website that would not aggressively “sell” therapy, but rather educate, build trust, and gently encourage taking the first step towards improving mental health.
The key challenge was designing communication appropriate for people in difficult emotional situations — so that every user would feel understood, heard, and could calmly decide to start therapy.
Analysis and design process
We started the project with a detailed analysis of the specifics of the psychological industry and the needs of potential patients. We understood that people seeking psychological help are often in difficult emotional situations and need an empathetic, non-intrusive approach.
Visual identity refresh
At the beginning of our cooperation, we refreshed the center’s logo, which was outdated and did not reflect the professionalism of the facility. The new design is modern but maintains warmth and accessibility — key values in communication with patients.
Patient-oriented content architecture
We designed the website structure with the patient journey in mind — from initial doubts, through getting to know the team and services, to gentle encouragement to make contact. We created 5 dedicated service pages:
- Individual psychotherapy
- Child psychotherapy
- Couple therapy
- Family therapy
- Supervision
Each page contains detailed information written in benefits language, answering questions and concerns of potential patients.
Individual team pages
Each specialist received a dedicated page with information about education, experience, working methods, and specializations. This allows patients to choose a therapist they feel comfortable with — which is crucial for therapy effectiveness.
Personalized contact form
We implemented an advanced form that allows users to select a specific specialist and the type of therapy needed. This solution is much more user-friendly than standard contact forms and shows that the center truly listens to patient needs.
Educational platform for patients
The client expressed the need to educate patients through valuable content that would help them better understand mental health topics and make informed decisions about therapy. We designed a system of two content categories:
- Psychoeducational articles — professional content supporting patients in understanding various aspects of mental health
- Therapist’s notes — personal reflections and thoughts from the center’s director, building connections with readers
A key requirement was enabling the client to independently add and manage this content without needing to involve a programmer.
Technology selection
For project implementation, we used modern technologies based on the Astro framework in static site generation (SSG) configuration, which ensures very fast loading and excellent SEO optimization — important for the center’s local visibility.
Interactive elements were implemented using React, which allowed for smooth animations and a user-friendly interface.
WordPress integration as CMS
To meet the client’s requirement for independent management of educational content, we implemented integration with WordPress as a headless CMS. WordPress retrieves data from a dedicated installation and makes it available to the website through REST API, which allows for:
- Easy addition and editing of articles without technical knowledge
- Independent management of two content categories
- Maintaining performance through static site generation
The website was launched on stable FTP hosting, ensuring reliable operation and ease of management.
Final results
The created website fully achieves the set goals:
- Builds trust through empathetic communication and transparent team presentation,
- Educates patients through valuable blog content and detailed therapy descriptions,
- Facilitates decision-making thanks to clear service structure and individual therapist profiles,
- Gently encourages contact without aggressive sales techniques,
- Presents professionalism while maintaining warmth and accessibility in communication.
The personalized contact form significantly facilitates first contact, and responsive design ensures comfortable website use on all devices.
Conclusions
The project showed how important it is to adapt communication and design to industry specifics and user’s emotional needs. In the mental health industry, empathy, trust, and a gentle approach are most important — values that must be visible in every element of the website.
Thanks to thoughtful content architecture and gentle communication, we managed to create a website that not only presents the center’s services but actually supports potential patients in making the difficult decision to start therapy.
